Medical Definition of TESCHEN DISEASE

:  a now uncommon mild to severe encephalomyelitis of swine that is caused by picornaviruses of several serogroups belonging to the genus Enterovirus, that is marked by lesions of the central nervous system and by varying degrees of systemic paralysis, and that is considered analogous to human poliomyelitis
